Smoked Neck Bones BBQ Beans for the Instant Pot is a dish that’s both satisfying and brimming with flavor.
Smoked Pork Neck Bones
Don’t be afraid to get these smoked bones if you happen to see them at the supermarket. They are actually a Southern favorite and quite the treat. They are a bit laborious, but well worth the effort.
These flavorful, tender morsels are essential for infusing the beans with that irresistible smokiness. When shopping for smoked neck bones, choose cuts that are well-marbled, as this will ensure a rich and savory broth.
These bones are small. The best method of cooking them is to put them in a cheesecloth bag. When the beans are done, pull the bag out and separate the meat from the bones. There will be plenty of meat on the bones.
Don’t give Fido or Kitty the bones as a treat. They could easily get stuck in their throat and cause choking. Be sure and toss them right away so no one tries to raid the trash can.
The Beans
You can use your favorite dry bean for this recipe. Because you are using the Instant Pot, there is no need to pre-soak. Pinto, red, black, or even Great Northern beans would make an excellent choice.
Make sure you thoroughly check the beans with your fingers before putting them in the pot. There are often rocks or hardened mud that look like beans but are not. You could put them in a colander and go through them or run water over them and go through them.
The Instant Pot Advantage
The Instant Pot is a game-changer in the kitchen. It takes what would traditionally be a slow-cooked, all-day affair and condenses it into a fraction of the time. If you haven’t harnessed the power of this versatile appliance, now is the time. The Instant Pot will help you achieve that melt-in-your-mouth tenderness with the smoked neck bones and create a delectable, saucy concoction with the beans.
What to Serve

These beans are wonderful combined with a fresh salad and Cheesy Jalapeño Cornbread. For those who like their beans spicy, be sure and have a bottle of Tabasco on the table.
