Back to School Teacher Gifts in this Post
Spane starts back to school on August 12, 2013. I wanted to make a some nice Back to School Teacher Gifts, one for our new Principal and one for Spane’s fifth grade teacher. We don’t know yet who Spane’s teacher is going to be, so I did not want to make anything that was gender specific. I also didn’t have a lot of money to spend, so I headed out to my nearest craft store and purchased two silver toned boxes, some school themed stickers, blue and gold ribbon to reflect the school’s colors, yellow wine gift bags, and some horses from the toy department because the school mascot is a mustang.
Decorated Tin Trinket Boxes
Making the gift boxes was as simple as sticking the stickers to the boxes in an artful manner. I used the sticker with the desk, paper and pencil for the teacher, and the one with the library books for the Principal.
I wanted to attach the mustang to the box for the gift bag. The bag of horses from the toy department had 4 horses, one of which “might” be a mustang, and the other is not, it’s gold so it goes with the school colors. The one with the mustang will go to the Principal, as she is new, the other to the teacher.
To make the bows, I used my handy, dandy Darice Mini Bowdabra Bow Maker. This tool makes making dazzling looking bows easy as 1, 2, 3. If you want to make great looking bows, I highly recommend this tool.
To make a coordinated scrunchy ribbon with the Bowdabra, have a look at the instructions with pictures.
That’s a cute idea. I’m sure that the new teacher and principle will like it very much.
I was thinking of doing something like that, maybe I’ll get $5.00 Starbucks cards. Thanks for the idea.
