Strawberry Mousse Fluff is easy to make but still an impressive dessert. It only has three ingredients: strawberry gelatin, frozen whipped topping, and strawberries.
It’s the perfect choice if you’re looking for a delicious dessert. This light and airy treat is easy to prepare and requires only a few ingredients, making it ideal for anyone who wants to whip up something sweet without spending hours in the kitchen. If you substitute sugar-free gelatin and sugar-free whipped topping, it’s even more weight-loss-friendly.
What is Mousse?
The word mousse is not a furry rodent. Mousse, which means “foam” in French, is a dessert known for its light, airy texture. The basic method for creating mousse involves incorporating air into a mixture, usually through whipping cream, egg whites, or gelatin.
Secrets to a Succesful Dessert
The secret to this dessert is using a lift-style Pro stand mixer. Part of the process involves putting a bowl of ice under the mixer’s bowl. If you don’t have a lift-style mixer, all is not lost. You can either put the bowl over a bowl of ice and whisk it with a regular whisk or use a hand mixer instead. I used this method when I made Lemon Margarita Bavarian Creams.
It’s also important to use frozen whipped topping, not regular whipped cream. The frozen topping helps the hot gelatin thicken. Regular whipped cream would break up. Adding the whipped topping in increments also helps the dessert thicken and become mousse-like.
Keep your whipped topping frozen until you’re ready to use it. Begin by adding boiling water to the bowl of a stand mixer. Stir in the dessert mix, and ensure all the gelatin is fully dissolved.
The dessert makes two cups, which you can pour into pretty dessert glasses or coupe glasses if you have them. You can also pour the mixture into a nice serving bowl so people can help themselves.
This Strawberry Mousse Fluff is a delightful way to satisfy your sweet cravings while keeping your calorie intake in check. With its quick preparation and light texture, it’s sure to become a favorite go-to dessert.
