Salmon cakes or croquettes made from canned salmon make a quick, budget-friendly, and satisfying meal. They’re crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and bursting with flavor. Whether you’re feeding your family or meal-prepping for the week, these cakes are a surefire hit!

If you have a leftover baked potato, this is the perfect way to use it. Don’t already have a leftover baked potato? You can put a potato in the microwave, let it cool, and then peel it. If you are gluten intolerant, try using baked potatoes as fillers instead of breadcrumbs.

The baked potato acts as a natural binder, eliminating the need for excessive breadcrumbs while adding a soft, velvety interior. Canned salmon is a convenient, affordable protein that’s packed with omega-3s. A trip to the air fryer means it does not use much fat and ensures a beautifully crispy crust, giving you gourmet results with minimal effort.

When you drain the canned salmon, save the juice for your cat. She will be very thankful.

You can use your preferred brand of mayonnaise or try using our recipe for homemade mayonnaise.

The Health Benefits of Canned Salmon

Canned salmon is not just a budget-friendly option; it’s also a nutritional powerhouse. Rich in omega-3 fatty acids, it supports heart health, reduces inflammation, and promotes brain function. These healthy fats are essential for maintaining a balanced diet and can even help improve mood and cognitive performance. Canned salmon is also an excellent source of high-quality protein, which is crucial for muscle repair and growth. Additionally, it’s packed with vital nutrients like vitamin D, which aids in bone health, and selenium, an antioxidant that supports the immune system. Including canned salmon in your diet is a simple way to enjoy these health benefits without breaking the bank.

This Salmon Cake recipe has been tested and perfected to ensure every bite delivers on flavor and texture. Trust me to guide you through a recipe that’s as enjoyable to make as it is to eat.
