Review KitchenAid Slicer Attachment
If you cook regularly, you know that tools only earn their place if they make everyday tasks easier. For years, I relied on a box grater for cheese and vegetables. It works, but it is hard on your hands, slow, and no matter how carefully you clean it, there is always a stray piece of grated cheese stuck somewhere inside. The same issue exists with many slicer and shredder attachments where the blade does not come out of the housing.
This KitchenAid slicer and shredder attachment solves that problem by allowing the blades to be removed completely. You simply pop them out, clean them thoroughly, and you are done. That single design choice makes a noticeable difference in day-to-day use.
Setup is straightforward. Slip the blade into the attachment, secure it to the mixer, and start slicing or shredding. Cheese grates quickly and evenly, including softer cheeses like Colby Jack. For mozzarella, I recommend cutting it and freezing it slightly first. That small step makes grating cleaner and more efficient.
Vegetable prep is where this attachment really shines. I used it to make Mexican Coleslaw, and the results were excellent. Carrots and multiple types of cabbage were prepped in minutes. It honestly took longer to make the dressing than it did to slice and shred the vegetables. Because the ingredients drop directly into the bowl, there is no extra transfer step and far less mess on the counter.
This slicer was also used to make Potatoes Anna. In the accompanying photo, you can see the potatoes being sliced directly into the pan. Thin, even slices are essential for that dish, and this attachment delivers consistent results that are ready to layer immediately.
Why You Should Get KitchenAid Slicer Attachment
If you already own a KitchenAid mixer and frequently grate cheese or prep vegetables, this attachment is a practical upgrade. It is easier on your hands than a box grater, easier to clean than fixed-blade attachments, and faster to use than pulling out a food processor.
The removable blades, consistent performance, and ability to slice directly into your bowl or pan make this a tool you will actually reach for. It supports real cooking, not just occasional use.
FAQ
Does this attachment work with all KitchenAid mixers?
It is designed to fit KitchenAid mixers with a standard hub. Always confirm compatibility with your specific model.
Is it easy to clean?
Yes. The blades remove completely, allowing for thorough and simple cleaning.
Can it handle soft cheeses?
Yes. For mozzarella, slightly freezing it first improves performance. This will not work with very soft cheeses like brie.
Does food scatter during use?
No. Ingredients drop directly into the bowl or pan underneath. You can either use your KitchenAid bowl or whatever receptacle is best suited for the dish you are preparing.
Is it dishwasher safe?
To keep the blades as sharp as possible, I would not recommend putting the unit in the dishwasher.

Good afternoon and welcome to the Good Plate’s Kitchen.
Today, I’m reviewing an attachment for your KitchenAid mixer.
The Gocoffun stainless steel slicer and shredder.
What’s different about this attachment is that the blades are removable from the
unit, unlike cylinder attachments or food can get trapped inside.
Using it is very straightforward.
You simply slip the blade into the attachment
and secure it to your KitchenAid and be done.
We make a lot of quesadillas in our house and pulling out the food processor every
time, just isn’t practical.
So for a long time, I relate on a box grater.
The box grater is great if you want bulging muscles.
But if you want to keep your hands from getting
sliced or grated, this is the attachment for you.
Not only is it easier to use, it’s also a lot easier to clean.
You simply plop the blade out and clean it.
Unlike the box grater, we’re out.
Other attachments for food get stuck inside no matter how careful you are.
this attachment grates cheese quickly and evenly.
Even soft cheeses like Colby Jack.
For months in real life, I do recommend cutting it and freezing it slightly first.
It will be easier for the machine to process.
This attachment also comes with slicing and julienne
inserts, which I use frequently for vegetables.
I’ve made coleslaw with carrots and multiple layers of cabbage in minutes.
It honestly took longer to make the
dressing than it did to prep the vegetables.
One of julienne beets, this is the way to go.
Just put the beets in there and boom, they come right out.
This attachment was, by the way, also used to make my potatoes Anna.
If you look at the photo, you can see the potatoes being sliced directly into the
pan, which was incredibly convenient.
There’s no extra transfer step.
The slices are even consistent and ready to layer.
Stay tuned.
Janus Anna is coming up soon.
Thank you for watching.
See you soon on the good plate.
And remember, forever forward, forever flavorful.
Yum, yum!
