Penzey’s Spices – Love People – Cook them Tasty Food

Penzsey's spices

In my recent recipes, you might see Penzey’s Sunny Paris as one of the ingredients. I was introduced to Sunny Paris at the 75 anniversary of Casablanca when Bill Penzey wrote up an amazing essay on the love that Ilsa (Ingrid Bergman) and Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart) had for each other and their love for the city and their dreams. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend it, and I highly recommend reading Bill’s excellent essay, renting the movie, and watching it with some popcorn sprinkled with some Sunny Paris.

Look at the picture above and you will see some of my most frequently used spices. I love Aleppo pepper because it has a nice smokey heat, fabulous Vanilla extract (did you know that vanilla is the second most expensive spice in the world after saffron?), Sunny Paris, Epazote for beans, and Arizona Dreaming for southwest dishes.

Notice the great stickers Penzey’s sent me with one of my orders.  My favorite is “Love people, cook them tasty food”. The customer service here is the best. Make yourself a better cook, visit Penzey’s, either in person or online. Heal the world.  Cook dinner tonight.

Sharing food is one of the most selfless things you can do. Think about it, when you cook food, you are sharing it with your family and friends, people who you love. You are not expecting any compensation other than seeing them enjoy the food you prepared for them.
