Heat the skillet then add the olive oil. When the oil is shimmering, add the onions and sauté. As the onions turn translucent, add the garlic cloves.
When the cloves are very soft, add the meat and sauté it until cooked.
Add the tomatoes and stir. Add the black pepper.
In the meantime, heat water to boiling. Make the broth by combining the wine, Worcestershire, beef base, and water. Stir well.
Add the flour to the pan and the broth. Stir until the sauce thickens. If the sauce does not get thick enough, you can add a bit more flour.
Add the carrots and stir them in.
Add the mushrooms and stir them in as well.
Potatoes
Put the drained, boiled potatoes into the stand mixer bowl with the butter. Mix. Add the half and half. Add the cheese, bacon, and chives and whip the potatoes.
Grave Yard
Use an offset spatula to spread half of the mashed potatoes over the filling. Put peas around the edges.
Make a pathway by sprinkling some of the Black Magic on the potatoes.
Make some tombstones out of mashed potatoes that you cover with black sesame seeds. Make an indentation in the mashed potatoes and put a tombstone in the indentation. Use small broccoli spears as trees.
Bake the casserole in a 350 oven for 30 minutes or until the potatoes have started to brown. Let the casserole rest for about 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
