Why BigOven?

You will often see links to BigOven on this site. Why? Because I use the software, and if you do, you will be able to import the recipes right into your own Bigoven software.

I have tried a lot of different recipe software, and I have to say, this one tops them all. I started off a long, long time ago with Meal Master. There are plenty of recipies on the Internet that are Meal Master format, and BigOven will happily import them, as well as some other formats as well. Meal Master is a DOS program, and has never really been updated for Windows. I don’t think it would even run on Windows 7. Update: Now that I have Windows 7, I have found that Meal Master indeed does not run on it. šŸ™ It was a great program, but I needed something better, and BigOven fit the bill.

You can save your grocery list and access it online, at the grocery store – where you need it the one time you left it at home. You can also access thousands of recipes right on your smart phone and never have to remember what ingredients are in one of your favorite recipes.

I really like this software. I think you will, too.

Theme for BigOven

If you decide that you would rather have a better theme, and you know a little about HMTL or CSS, you can edit one of the themes that come with the program. Just be sure to make a backup copy of it. Warning: the program thinks that it lost its registration when you do this, so you will have to activate it again after all your changes are made. You can download the complete zip file with images or make your own. Here’s a picture of mine:
